Dr Chris Benson

Dr Chris Benson is a Consultant Cardiologist.

A Cardiologist looks after people with heart problems. 

Dr Benson graduated from Newcastle University in 2013. He then completed his early doctor training in the North East, including his first training years at STSFT. 

He specialises in heart care. He has a special interest in:

• Heart failure
• Heart devices, such as pacemakers and special devices that help the heart beat better

Along with general heart care, he runs special clinics for heart devices and heart failure. These clinics take place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings across the Trust. Because he also teaches doctors and students, there may be junior doctors or medical students at these clinics.

Outside work, he is a long suffering Manchester United fan and coaches a junior football team... as long as his lads will let him!
