Dr James Andrews
Dr Andrews is a Consultant Interventional Nephrologist.
A Consultant Interventional Nephrologist looks after people with kidney disease.
He has a special focus on medical ultrasound. His clinical interests include:
- renal transplantation (an operation where a person receives a healthy kidney from another person to replace a damaged one)
- acute medicine (the care of adults who are very unwell and need quick treatment)
- end stage renal disease (when the kidneys stop working well enough to keep a person healthy, so dialysis or a transplant is needed).
Dr Andrews is also a clinical lecturer at Newcastle University.
