Saeed Ahmed - Staff governor for Medical and Dental staff
Sid has worked at STSFT for 20 years. Alongside his role as Clinical Director, he has always worked to create a workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. He believes that everyone should have fair opportunities and that different views make the organisation stronger. Sid believes that supporting people helps them grow and makes the workforce stronger as a whole.
Sid works closely with staff through teamwork and by setting up groups such as the Workforce Race Equality Network and the International Medical Graduate office. This has helped him understand what staff need and what matters to them. Because of this, he has been able to support staff during difficult times, including the summer riots and the Covid‑19 pandemic in the Division of Medicine.
As a Governor, Sid wants to use his experience to speak up for staff and help make positive changes. He wants to make sure these changes benefit both staff and the communities the Trust serves.
Sid’s previous leadership experience means he is well placed to be a Governor. He will help make sure the Board of Directors is held to account for how the Trust performs. Through his work with senior leaders, he has seen that making fair and thoughtful decisions leads to the best outcomes over time.
