Sekinat Ojetola - Staff governor for hospital staff

Sekinat is an Advanced Practitioner Pharmacist at the Trust. She understands healthcare from both a clinical view and a patient’s view. This helps her speak up for staff, patients and service users. She works to make sure people are heard and their concerns are taken seriously.

Sekinat cares deeply about fair access to healthcare for everyone. She is especially passionate about helping people from underserved communities, no matter their background. She also supports diversity and inclusion at work. To do this, she takes part in groups that help bring positive change. These include her role as a Core20Plus Ambassador with NHS England and NHS Improvement, and her work with the Workplace Racial Equality Network.

Outside of work, Sekinat has been part of the Executive Committee of a community group as a Welfare Officer. In this role, she supported people from different backgrounds. This helped her better understand the challenges people face and strengthened her commitment to fairness and equal care.

As a governor, Sekinat looks forward to working with others to support good practice, improve patient care, and make a positive difference for both staff and patients.
