STS Charity, the official charity of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust, has partnered with Studio6, a community-based personal training facility for women, to promote health and wellbeing and raise vital funds to support patients, families and staff.
This collaboration aims to empower women across Sunderland and South Tyneside, especially those affected by illness, undergoing treatment, or navigating specific women’s health challenges.
Studio6 has also named STS Charity as its Charity Partner. It is planning a series of fundraising events to raise money to support projects across the Trust with a particular focus on health and wellbeing, reducing health inequalities, innovation and improving patient and staff experience.
Nichola Taylor is the Head of STS Charity. She shared:
“We’re proud to be working in partnership with Studio6 and grateful to have been chosen as its Charity Partner. It’s important for us to work with organisations in our local community who have similar values and understand and support what we are trying to achieve.
At STS Charity, we’re passionate about supporting the wellbeing of our patients, staff, and wider community. This partnership is a brilliant way to encourage more people to develop healthy habits that keep them fit and well and will help us invest more to support our health, care and communities.”
Studio6 has been part of the local community for over five years, hosting quarterly fundraising events and supporting women in strengthening their minds, bodies, and souls.
Their mission aligns perfectly with STS Charity’s commitment to healthy lives, healthy bodies, and reducing health inequalities.
Abbi Hutchinson is the owner of Studio6. She shared:
“This partnership just makes sense. STS Charity was brought to my attention by the amazing women in our space, whose families have benefited from its services. My own mam works for the NHS, and I know that in the years to come, so many of us will be touched by the work they do.”
Abbi is lacing up her trainers for this year’s Great North Run, raising funds for STS Charity.
Abbi also ran the Sunderland city 10k run with a group of friends in May and helped raise around £2,000 for cancer services at the Trust.
Studio6 will host a community Shake Out Run on Saturday 6th September at Puma Dalton Park, inviting members and supporters to lace up and get involved.
