ParkingEye

Car parking is monitoring using the ParkingEye system. It utilises number plate recognition technology to capture the number plates of all vehicles entering and exiting the City Hospitals Sunderland sites.

Photographic evidence is then coupled with the timing of the vehicles within the car parks, as well as any payments made using the pay machines or Pay by Phone services, resulting in an accurate picture of car park usage. Parking charges are generated and issued to those motorists parked inappropriately or who are in breach of terms and conditions, such as non-payment.

How to pay

There is a payment machine situated in the Main Reception Area which accepts card and cash payments. There is also a text payment system available.

Blue Badge Holders

Patients must bring both parts of their blue badge into reception, where a receptionist will register the badge holder’s car.
