St Benedict’s Hospice has provided specialist palliative care to the people of Sunderland and surrounding districts since 1984. Care is provided by the NHS as part of South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and is supported by St. Benedict’s Hospice charity.
In recognition of the benefit and value of hospice care, our services have grown over the years. We are now a centre of excellence providing a range of services across the whole community. This includes an out-patient service, care in the home, hospital or care home as well as in-patient beds.
We offer an honest and open environment. We treat your stay as an extension of your own home. Respecting your individual wishes and providing your care at a pace that suits you. We will work with you, your family and carers to provide you with personalised care. Maintaining your dignity, privacy and freedom of informed choice at all times.
St Benedict’s Hospice welcomes everyone who will benefit from the expertise and care of our multi professional team. We care for people with difficult or distressing symptoms whether they are physical, emotional or spiritual.
