Our Intermediate Care Assessment and Rehabilitation (ICAR) unit is a community based, 24 bedded rehabilitation unit which comprises all single, en-suite rooms.

ICAR provides short term rehabilitation for people who are well enough to leave hospital or avoid hospital admission but need extra support to do so. The unit is designed to maximise independent living, promote faster recovery from illness, help with timely hospital discharge and provide an effective alternative to hospital admissions.

We offer medical, nursing and therapy assessments and will monitor and support your health and recovery and rehabilitate you to achieve your goals. Our multi-disciplinary team work closely with patients, families, carers and social services where appropriate, to enable a safe and timely discharge.
