A bus which helps educate will pull into Sunderland Royal Hospital to help share information during Congenital Heart Disease Awareness Week.

The Melissa Bus works across the North East to help people learn about health and wellbeing.

NENC Congenital Heart Disease Network Patient and Family Engagement Group will be using it to help mark the week, which runs from Wednesday, February 7.

The event will be held on Friday, February 9, from 10am to 3pm.

The roadshow will look what Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is and what it is like to live with the condition.

It will also cover how people can look after their health and wellbeing and the importance of dental and skin health.

It is open to educators and the public.

There will also be a simulation session for healthcare professionals on the upper deck.

The week will also see stops made at West Cumberland Hospital in Whitehaven and the University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton.
