Two sessions have been lined to help people who have headaches and those who care for them learn more about how to handle them.

The Neurology Team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust is sharing information about the days. This to help patients as well as colleagues from the Trust and other NHS organisations.

The first is an online event.

The Cumbria Headache Forum is open to people from across the North East.

It will host a conference via Microsoft Teams on Thursday, June 5. It will run from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

Subjects covered will include:

  • Symptoms, management and treatment of migraines
  • How a Ketogenic (Keto) could help prevent headaches
  • A look at technology that acts directly on nerves and treatment which does not involve medication
  • Experiences with botox injections

There will also be discussions with specialists.

The second session is hosted by OUCHUK, a national charity for cluster headache.

It will take place on Sunday, June 8, and is a full day of information. It will be hosted at the RVI in Newcastle and is an in-person event.

There will be leading experts from around the UK who will share their insight. There will also be a chance to meet and hear from other cluster headache sufferers. They will talk about diagnosis and treatment.

There will be sessions about what resources are available for cluster headache sufferers. This will also offer help to those who support them.
