A warning has been shared over text scam claiming to be from Parkingeye.

The company has said it does not send out text messages to anyone facing a Parking Charge Notice (PCN).

Parkingeye has issued a message to urge people to not fall for a scam. It involves a text message claiming a fine is owed.

The company manages the charges for our car parks. It has shared details to warn of a scam which is thought to be in operation across the UK.

People receive a text message saying they have a Parking Charge Notice (PCN). It states they need to pay or else their vehicle will be seized.

Parkingeye has said anyone who gets such a text should not click on any link.

They should also forward the text on to 7726. This text is free and is a scheme run by most mobile phone providers to report suspicious messages.

That service will then investigate the message and arrange to block or ban the sender.
