I think this is affecting my wellbeing

Having cancer treatment can be hard. There can be a lot stress that affects your wellbeing. It’s normal to have a range of feelings, such as anxiety, fear, sadness and anger in this time.

It is also important to treat yourself with care, like a kind friend would do.

How can I help my own wellbeing?

Different people might find different things help them. Some things that can be helpful are listed below.

Some people find it useful to break tasks into smaller, easier steps. Do this based on what you feel up to at that time. This is called pacing.

Family and friends can be a great support. Speaking with them about your worries can help your anxiety. Let them know how you feel so they can help.

Counselling can provide extra help to people. Macmillan offer free counselling, this includes one to one counselling sessions.

Some people find that stress and worry stops them from sleeping normally. Good quality sleep before and after treatment is important. It helps your body get better. This link may help you sleep.
