To protect our patients and colleagues and to help minimise the spread of COVID-19 we made the difficult decision to suspend visiting at all of our hospitals. We understand how hard it is to be separated from your loved ones during this uncertain time, which is why we introduced a new 'Sending Love' service to help you to stay connected. Although restricted visiting has been reintroduced into our hospitals, we've decided to keep the scheme, which allows you to send a message/letter/photographs to a loved one while they are a patient in one of our hospitals. We will then hand deliver your messages to your loved one to help you stay in touch.
As we approach Christmas, we're excited to be launching a special edition of our Sending Love service... #SendingChristmasLove. You can use this to send messages, letters and photographs to a loved one who is receiving care in one of our hospitals over the Christmas period, and you can also use this to send love to a member of our team. Perhaps you were a patient during 2021 and you want to send love to our staff and thank them for looking after you? Or maybe you want to send love to a department that has been particularly helpful to you, or holds a special place in your heart after they cared for your loved one? You might even have a loved one who is part of our team and you'd like to send them a surprise message whilst at work, to let them know you're proud of the work they do. We would love to hear from you and look forward to passing on your #SendingChristmasLove messages to our very deserving team.
To send a message simply complete the form below, or if you prefer you can send your message via email to stsft.sendinglove@nhs.net (Please make sure you include the patient/staff members full name, patients date of birth and where they are in the hospital i.e. ward name/department)
If you would prefer, you can post your letter to:
At the moment, Sending Love deliveries run from Monday to Friday. If we receive your message on a Saturday or Sunday, it will be delivered on the following Monday. Please note that this service does not run on Bank Holidays such as Christmas Day/Boxing Day/New Year's Day.
We hope this offers our patients, their loved ones and our colleagues some comfort during these challenging times.
