We’re dedicated to supporting the mental health of you and your family both before and after you welcome your new baby. We have many different support avenues for pregnant people and their families. 

Obstetric mental health clinic
If you feel you are having difficulty in managing your mental wellbeing, please speak to your midwife, GP or health visitor. They may refer you to our Obstetric Mental Health Clinic, where you will be seen by our specialist teams in the antenatal clinic. 

Maternal mental health service
If you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health as a result of your maternity experience, you can self-refer to our Maternal Mental Health Service. We can provide support for issues including traumatic births, pregnancy or newborn loss and fear/anxiety around pregnancy/childbirth. For emergency help please call 999. For urgent mental health support call the Crisis Team on 0303 123 1145.

Talking therapy
Being pregnant is a unique life event and it is natural to feel a lot of different emotions. If you’re feeling sad or anxious and it’s starting to affect your daily life, a talking therapy may help, please contact the websites below for more information.
