Daytime bladder problems are common, especially in younger children after the potty-training stage. Therefore, the school nursing service does not review children with bladder and bowel issues under the age of 5 years.

To support a healthy bladder and bowel, we have included some information below. This is from The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity – ERIC.

If your child’s bladder and bowel issues continue after six months, please contact the School Nursing Service for a referral for additional support on 0191 283 2189.

We hope you find this information useful. You can also find more information on the ERIC website - eric.org.uk

Or you can phone the parents/ carers support line Monday to Thursday, 10am-2pm on 0808 801 0343.

If you have any concerns about your childs general health or think that your child may have a urine infection, please contact the GP. If it is out of hours, you can contact 111 for further advice.
