Daytime bladder problems are common, especially in younger children after the potty-training stage. Therefore, the school nursing service does not review children with bladder and bowel issues under the age of 5 years.
To support a healthy bladder and bowel, we have included some information below. This is from The Children’s Bowel and Bladder Charity – ERIC.
- Daytime wetting - Advice Sheet Daytime Bladder
- Night time bed wetting - Advice for children with night time wetting
- Constipation - Advice for Children with Constipation
- Advice about children's bladders and bowels - From birth, to potty training, to school
- For children with sensory needs - Sensory needs and toileting - ERIC
- For children with additional needs - Advice about bladders, bowels and toileting for children with additional needs
If your child’s bladder and bowel issues continue after six months, please contact the School Nursing Service for a referral for additional support on 0191 283 2189.
