The Community Dermatology service is based at Bunny Hill Primary Care Centre.
We offer local, accessible, high-quality dermatology and minor surgery services in a primary care setting, shifting care closer to home from hospital and into community settings. We offer a range of treatment options, including cryotherapy, dermojet, minor surgery and topical treatments.
Community Dermatology acknowledge that our patients present with a wide range of skin conditions and strive to provide individual, patient centred care, in a professional and sensitive manner. We provide education and psychological support to encourage self-care for patients suffering from chronic skin problems and offer support for patients experiencing a significant flare up of their skin condition.
The community dermatology service GP Dermatology Clinics include;
- Lump and bump clinics (nurse-led or GP led)
- Nurse Led Clinics (Surgical Nurse Practitioners, Junior Nurse Practitioners & Staff Nurse)
- Minor Surgery (GP and Surgical Nurse Practitioners)
In these clinics we see and treat people with a wide range of skin conditions, such as;
- Eczema, Psoriasis, Seborrheic Dermatitis
- Infected skin conditions
- Chronic skin conditions such as pruritus, acne, rosacea and actinic keratosis
- Low grade skin cancers
Community Dermatology do not provide;
- Roaccutane for acne
- Biological and systemic treatments
- Light therapy
- Patch testing
To receive these treatments you need a referral to the hospital dermatology clinic.
