This is a pulse oximeter. It clips on your finger. It tells us how much oxygen is in your blood.

She is having her blood pressure taken. The strap goes around your arm. It gets a bit tight but does not hurt.

This is how the nurse takes your temperature. The probe sits in your ear. The nurse will talk to you so she can find out what is wrong.

This is a hospital passport. This helps the doctors and nurses get to know about you.

You might sit or lie down on a trolley in the Emergency Department. The screen shows your blood pressure, oxygen levels and your pulse.

The doctor will come and talk to you. They want to find out what is wrong. Then they will know how to make you feel better.

We have a quiet room in the ED. You can wait in there if the waiting room is too busy and noisy. Just ask at reception. If you need your family or carer to stay with you that is fine.
