Cardiac Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy: Cardiac Rehabilitation

We provide assessment and treatment to outpatients who have difficulty due to heart problems or due to dysfunctional breathing patterns (also known as hyperventilation and over breathing).

Cardiac Rehabilitation is offered following: Angina, Cardiomyopathy, Coronary angioplasty, Dysfunctional Breathing Pattern, Heart attack, Heart surgery, Pacemaker and/ or ICD inserted.

Lower Limb Amputee Rehabilitation

Physiotherapy:  Lower Limb Amputee Rehabilitation

We provide assessment and treatment to outpatients who have movement difficulties due lower limb amputation

The cause of lower limb amputation is varied; reasons include trauma, peripheral vascular disease, secondary to diabetes or elective as a result of congenital abnormality.

Limb Reconstruction

Physiotherapy: Limb Reconstruction

We provide assessment and treatment to outpatients following lower limb corrective surgery. The team is based in Sunderland.

There are several reasons for limb reconstructive surgery, this includes some congenital disorders and acquired post traumatic deformity affecting the lower limbs.

Neurological/Stroke/Genetic Disorder

Physiotherapy: Neurology/ Genetic disorder:

We provide assessment and treatment to outpatients who have movement difficulties due to central nervous system pathology and genetic disorder. The team is based across South Tyneside and Sunderland.

Conditions include: Cerebral Palsy, Guillain Barre Syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Parkinson’s , Spinal Cord Injury and Stroke.

 

Musculoskeletal

Physiotherapy: Musculoskeletal

We provide assessment and treatment to inpatients and outpatients with a range of muscle, bone and joint problems. The team is based across South Tyneside and Sunderland.

Conditions include: Arthritis – OA / RA, Back and neck pain, Day case surgery, Facial Palsy, Fractures, Joint Pain, Joint replacement surgery, soft tissue repair surgery, fracture fixation surgery, Post-operative treatment / Rehabilitation, Soft tissue Injury.

Pelvic Health

Physiotherapy: Pelvic Health

We provide assessment and treatment to outpatients who have urogynaecology and colorectal problems. The team is based across South Tyneside and Sunderland.

Conditions include: stress urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, voiding dysfunctions, obstructed defecation and sexual dysfunction
