About Us
Our glaucoma unit is part of the ophthalmology department and investigates and treats Glaucoma, the name given to conditions in which eye-pressure related optic nerve damage occurs.
Investigations for Glaucoma include visual fields testing, which is carried out by nurses who have been trained and also see the majority of stable review patients.
The team also carries out outpatient appointments.
In the Glaucoma and Mayling Department we cover glaucoma clinics as well as nurse-led glaucoma clinics.
There are also two types of fields clinics which are also nurse-led.
