The unit carries out procedures for patients who are being cared for by services across our Trust.
These include tests and treatments.
Liver and lung biopsies, lumbar punctures, blood transfusions, infusions and vascular procedures are among those it carries out.

The unit is on B Floor at Sunderland Royal Hospital.
Step-free access is via the main entrance off Kayll Road and Rehabilitation Entrance 8.
