We are compassionate and inclusive.
We all want to feel valued and included. Our strengths lie in our diversity. We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident to be themselves. We strive to create a culture of acceptance and belonging and will always treat each other with respect and compassion.
How are we doing this?
- Our behavioural compact sets out the standards we should all follow at work, promoting civility, fairness and respect.
- Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team is making sure we are a responsible employer and service provider.
- Our new network of Dignity and Respect Champions will provide a listening ear and promote inclusion across our Trust.
- We have developed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion training workshops which are available to all staff
- We have pledged our support to celebrate diversity through the NHS Rainbow Badge initiative which is for staff that would like to show their support by completing a pledge of inclusion. By choosing to wear this badge, colleagues send a message to fellow staff, visitors and patients that “you can talk to me.”
- Every month we publish an Inclusion Calendar which can be found on the Trust Intranet and features important dates and awareness days.
- Our Chaplaincy service supports staff from all faiths and backgrounds, and we also offer pastoral support to help newly qualified nurses embrace our core values.
- Our Staff Network Groups are creating a positive space for colleagues to talk about their experiences and support improvements across the Trust.
